Creative X

Our mission as Rutgers Creative Expressions Publication, or Creative X for short, is to raise exposure for different aspects of design and help build a community for student designers. We hope to build a space that allows students to share knowledge and appreciate craft in topics ranging from design thinking and product design to motion and graphic design.

We believe in the power of collaborative design and in making design inclusive and accessible. We look forward to continue growing as a community and advocating for design at Rutgers.

Meet the team

Although we've never met in-person because of Covid-19, we started Creative X through lots of Discord channels and Zooms. Meet the team at the this link.

Our Favorite UX Laws

Let's take a look at some psychology and user experience principles that designers utilize to effectively craft solutions. Knowing laws will allow us to work off a guideline to ensure best design practices are met.

These principles fall roughly into three categories:

  • Gestalt principles refer to the ways human perception perceive patterns and elements.
  • Heuristics are quick shortcuts humans can make use of to arrive at a decision.
  • Cognitive biases are deviations from purely rational, quantitative judgement that people may be prone to experiencing.
