Since its inception in 1994, the Institute has been committed to research, teaching, gender intervention, policy outreach, and advocacy on gender relations in Palestinian society, as well in discussion and debate on gender issues in the Arab World. The site includes the research reports, publications, and links to other Middle Eastern women and gender organizations.
General Union of Palestinian Women
GUPW was established in 1965 as a body within the Palestinian Liberation Organization and considered to be the official representative body for Palestinian women around the world. It is also the umbrella for all women's organizations in Palestine and in exile. The report The National Strategy for the Advancement of Palestinian Women is available under the link "Publications."
Women's Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling
Established in Jerusalem in 1991, the WCLAC is a Palestinian independent women's NGO that addresses the causes and consequences of gender-based violence within the community as well as the gender-specific effects of the increasing militarization associated with the Israeli occupation.
