Title: From Perception to Action: RBHS Faculty Views on Open Access and Library Support
Abstract:
In 2022, the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) issued a crucial memorandum on public access to federally funded research (Nelson's Memo), mandating that all researchers must make their federally funded research publicly accessible by the end of 2025. To aid faculty in meeting this requirement, Rutgers Health Sciences Librarians conducted a study to assess faculty perceptions and experiences with Open Access, along with their awareness of Rutgers Libraries' Transformative Agreements. This presentation will delve into the background of the study, outline our engagement methodology with faculty, and describe our plans for analyzing and sharing the results. The insights gained from this study will be contributing in enhancing library support for faculty, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to successfully publish Open Access.
