Open Access Publishing Opportunities for Rutgers Researchers

Abstract
As Open Access publishing is becoming increasingly common, Rutgers University Libraries, through negotiations via BTAA or directly with various publishers, is providing more and more opportunities for our researchers to publish their articles openly accessible to the public. Liaison librarians or subject librarians get inquiries from our researchers about whether RUL has a fund for OA publishing or if a journal is included in our agreements for the coverage of article process fees (APCs) and so on. This session will: 1) provide an overview of the status of OA publishing, 2) explain how our institutional agreements with certain publishers allow researchers to publish Open Access at no cost, 3) present a growing list of publishers whose journals offer reduced or zero Article Processing Charges (APCs) for publishing OA articles, 4) share info on other OA publishing opportunities, 5) offer suggestions/tips to liaison librarians to assist researchers with OA publishing-related  inquiries.
