Title: How Do State Libraries in the US Support Small Businesses?
Abstract: How does New Jersey measure up to other states in their statewide library support for small business? How do state libraries across the country provide online information for would-be entrepreneurs? Ka-Neng Au and Bobbie Tipton surveyed the business-related databases supplied remotely to the general public in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The research method used was website analysis with follow-up emails and phone calls where necessary for clarification. The survey revealed that states differ in their statewide databases to support small businesses and entrepreneurs, but that most states offer at least one business database for everyone.
