ORCID and ORCID iD

ORCID is a nonprofit organization that provides you as a researcher with an ORCID iD, which is a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from other researchers. You can connect your iD to your Rutgers NetID. You can also connect it to your grants, publications, peer review, and other professional information. Your ORCID iD enables you to share your information with other systems, ensuring you to get recognition for all your contributions, saving you time and hassle, and reducing the risk of errors. For more information, please visit ORCID Website (http://orcid.org).

In 2017, Rutgers implemented ORCID@Rutgers, which allows Rutgers researchers to

  • Join a research community of nearly 4 million.
  • Raise visibility of your researcher profile with an ORCID iD-enhanced Rutgers directory listing.
  • Help build an integrated Rutgers research environment.
