Data Extraction

Data Extraction

Covidence has two versions of extraction templates: Extraction 1 and Extraction 2.

Extraction 1 is designed for intervention systematic reviews, more suitable for Cochrane reviews as there is an export path to RevMan (Review Manager).

Extraction 2 is designed for all other review types, including scoping reviews.

If you are not sure which template to use, please read  How to decide when to use Extraction 1 vs Extraction 2 and view the comparison table on the Covidence support page at  https://support.covidence.org/help/which-version-of-data-extraction-should-i-use.

Steps for data extraction:

  • Create a customized extraction template tailored to your review.
  • Extract data systematically for each included study.
  • Monitor progress and track completion.
