Statista has introduced a Research AI search tool. This tool does not replace Statista's existing search and browse features but instead should be treated as an experimental new feature that you can use alongside Statista's established features. The tool operates only over Statista content, including descriptions and datasets from all available statistics; information from topic pages, report pages, industry pages, and infographics; and key findings from Market Insights. As of May 2025, it does not include data from Statista's Consumer Insights and Company Insights.
To access the tool, select Research AI in the top menu bar:
You'll arrive at a landing page where you can enter your query or scroll down the page to learn more about how the Research AI tool works.
The Research AI tool allows you to ask natural language queries, and, using Retrieval-Augmented Generation technology, it selects up to 10 Statista sources that match your query and provides a natural language response citing some of these sources. If you requested specific statistics, it may retrieve and display them at the top of the response pane. Please review the full response response carefully because sources may be used out of context or misinterpreted, and be sure to check all cited sources for accuracy:
The tool then displays Extended Query Recommendations (additional search queries you may try) and Curated Content Recommendations (additional Statista sources that may be relevant):
In May 2025, we reached out to Statista and confirmed they do not use tool interactions to train LLMs. For more information about Statista Research AI, please see:
