Accounting Research Manager, located on the CCH AnswerConnect platform, has introduced generative AI features. The search box now allows for natural language searching and uses Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to produce a GenAI summary at the top of your search results. An AI-powered chat tool (AI Assistant) allows for conversational interactions with AI.
Answers generated by Accounting Research Manager's AI are based on tax and accounting source documents within the CCH AnswerConnect platform. These AI-powered tools are intended to help get you started on tax research, but you still should carefully check the tax and accounting source documents to make sure you have accurate information.
To obtain the best results, Wolters Kluwer recommends entering a straightforward question and focusing your tax research on one jurisdiction at a time. When you run a search, GenAI will attempt to produce a summary response, which will appear at the top of your results:

The summary response includes citations, which you should check to make sure the documents are being used accurately. It also includes suggested followup questions and the option to follow up with conversational AI chat. You may also access AI chat anytime by selecting the AI Assistant in the header bar:

While intended to jump start your tax research, AI-powered answers are not validated by tax experts and are not always reliable, so you should review the source documents to validate your research and findings. The content provided should be considered general guidance and is not a substitute for professional tax and accounting advice.
In September 2025, Wolters Kluwer, the vendor behind Accounting Research Manager, confirmed that that inputs into the AI tools are not used to train LLMs, as they are using a closed system RAG model. Data science teams at Wolters Kluwer will review the tool outputs to iterate and improve the AI performance.
Wolters Kluwer says that users are prohibited from using any personally identifiable or confidential information as part of any search query. There are processes and tools in place to automatically remove personally identifiable information from any data that is recorded in logs or handled during system input and output operations, but users should still be careful not to enter personal information into the tool to ensure privacy.
