This course provides an introduction to Evidence-based Medicine, a fundamental requirement for clinical medicine, and builds skills in the critical reading of the biomedical literature. During the M1 year, you will develop the necessary skills to be an interdisciplinary thinker and life-long learner who understands and interprets molecular, biochemical and clinical information leading to improved evidence-based medicine. These skills include formulating good questions, knowing where and how to search for information, and evaluating information to determine that it is accurate, reliable, valid and relevant.
Locate background information online using library resources such as e-textbooks, evidence summaries, drug directories, guides to diagnostic tests, and review articles.
