EZB Loans - Shipping

Print Pull Slips

  1. Go to E-ZBorrow staff login https://rutgers.reshare.indexdata.com/login
  2. Log in using your NetID and password
  3. Click on 'Supply' from the dashboard
  4. Pull slips can be batch printed using the link below associated with your library. Individual book bands can be printed by opening the request, clicking 'Actions' in the top right corner of the window, and selecting 'Print Pull Slips’.
    • A preview of your Pull Slips will open in a PDF viewer

  5. Click on the printer icon to send the Pull Slip PDF to your printer. (You can use the download icon to save the Pull Slip PDF if needed)
  6. IMPORTANT: When finished printing, you must click on the Mark pull slip(s) as printed button in order to move requests to Searching status.

Update the request

When all items have been pulled from the shelves

  1. Open the request in ReShare by scanning the request # barcode on the pull slip
  2. Under Actions - scan the barcode of the book and update the request
    • this process will automatically update the item record in Alma to indicate that it has been sent out for a Resource Sharing request.
  3. Use the pull slip as a book band by wrapping it around the front cover of the book
  4. The item is now ready for shipping to the borrowing partner indicated on the book band.

Reprinting Pull Slips

If for any reason you need to reprint a pull slip / book band:

Print a single pull slip 

  1. open the request in ReShare
  2. click on the blue Actions button that appears in the top right corner of the request window 
  3. select 'Print Pull Slip'
  4. a preview of the pull slip will appear - click on 'Print' in the top center of the window.

Reprint a batch 

The Batch filter can call up a previously printed batch of requests

  1. Locate the Batch field in the Search & Filter pane on the left side of the window
  2. Click on the down arrow to reveal a list of previously printed batches 
  3. Select the batch to be reprinted and they will appear in a preview window ready for printing

Receiving E-ZBorrow Borrowing Requests

Instructions for receiving new non-Rutgers items so a patron can check them out

  1. Go to E-ZBorrow staff login: https://rutgers.reshare.indexdata.com/login
  2. Log in using your NetID and password
  3. Click on 'Request' from the main dashboard
  4. Click on the request from the list that corresponds with the item to be received, or search using the filter options on the left
  5. Scan barcode on blue band (should begin with NJNBRU- ) into the Item Barcode field, click SCAN or hit Enter
  6. At the top of the screen you will see if the item was updated successfully.

PLEASE NOTE: if an item has multiple volumes, affix a Rutgers barcode number over the scannable NJNBRU-barcode of the additional volume(s). Send an email to ill@rutgers.libanswers.com and include the request number with the barcodes being used. ILL staff will add these additional items to the request in Alma for circulation of all materials. (NOTE: a feature to handle multiple items systematically is currently in development)

In Alma:

  1. Log in to http://alma.libraries.rutgers.edu with your NetID
  2. Under Fulfillment, click SCAN IN ITEM
  3. Scan NJNBRU number into the "Scan item barcode" field, click OK or hit Enter
  4. The item's destination will be their pickup location.
    1. PLEASE NOTE: even if the item is received for a patron at your library, it will be "in transit" to the circulation desk. The circ desk staff will need to scan in the item to make the request available for the patron.

E-ZBorrow Returns

Instructions for returning E-ZBorrow items that were loaned to Rutgers patrons from other institutions

  1. Make sure the item has been discharged in Alma
  2. Go to E-ZBorrow staff login: https://rutgers.reshare.indexdata.com/login
  3. Log in using your NetID and password
  4. Click on the request from the list that corresponds with the item to be returned (or use the search feature) and click Scan
  5. In the Actions field, scan the request barcode (begins with NJNBRU) 
  6. At the top of the screen it will verify that the request has been returned by the patron and a new box should appear
  7. Enter the request barcode again and click Scan
  8. You will now see a verification that the return has been shipped
  9. The item is now ready to be shipped back to the lending library

E-ZBorrow Completes

Instructions for receiving E-ZBorrow loans that have been borrowed by other institutions. "Completing" these items puts them back into our circulating collection

  1. Go to E-ZBorrow staff login: https://rutgers.reshare.indexdata.com/login
  2. Log in using your NetID and password
  3. Click on Supply from the dashboard
  4. Search for the request using the request barcode or the book barcode
  5. Make sure the title matches the book. Click COMPLETE LOAN
  6. Under Actions in the request view, scan in the request number from the book band to complete the request
  7. The item status will change to Complete and the item status in Alma will update.

In Alma:

  1. Log in to Alma using your NetID: http://alma.libraries.rutgers.edu
  2. Go to your Circulation Desk location
  3. Under Fulfillment, choose Scan In Items
  4. Scan the book barcode (this might be on front cover or inside the back cover of the item). Click OK or hit Enter
  5. The item's Destination will be updated
    1. If it is from your library, it will have a reshelving destination
    2. If it's owned by a different library, it will show that location and put the item in "transit for reshelving"
  6. Remove the blue band from the book
