Legal Databases

These databases present laws and legal research collections published in government publications, academic legal and criminal justice journals.

Suggested search terms include: Abortion, adultery, contraception, fertility regulation, infanticide, reproductive justice, sex acts, sex     crimes, sodomy laws,  etc.  

Criminal Justice Abstracts is a comprehensive index of scholarship on criminal justice, criminology, and related disciplines from the early 20th century to the present. It covers crime trends, crime prevention and deterrence, forensic sciences, juvenile delinquency, juvenile justice, police and policing, punishment, and sentencing.

HeinOnline is a a legal research collection of laws and regulations, case law, treaties and agreements, scholarly legal and criminal justice journals, government publications, classical legal volumes, and related materials. It covers law in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and it also includes a selection of other foreign and international law resources.

Westlaw presents the full text of all federal and state U.S. cases. The collection also includes other legal primary sources, such as the United States Code Annotated, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register, and European Union laws and regulations. It also contains many secondary sources, including over 800 law reviews and journals, the legal encyclopedia American Jurisprudence, and the analytical series American Law Reports.
