How to use Simple Search

The new Factiva Interface allows for quick, basic searching.

After logging into Factiva, you'll see the search bar that runs across the top. (Below the search bar you'll see headlines from worldwide and regional news sources)

Entering Your Search

Say you’re interested in the latest news on food insecurity.

Type food insecurity into the search bar ... you get the most relevant results from the past three months (which is the default). You can change both criteria to select a different date range and if you'd rather have the most recent or oldest first. The "Filters" bar allows you to select media types. Again, All is the default but you can change it to publications or web news. If you scroll down, you can also select companies, industries, regions, subjects, or languages that relate to this topic.
