Researcher Profiles

Your Researcher Profile contains information about you, your research interests, and your research output. This information is not public and only visible to you when you are logged into SOAR.

Researcher profiles include two main components:

  • Overview - Your personal information such as your biography, research interests, and contact information.
  • Output - A list of your research outputs organized by type.

Editing Your Researcher Profile

To edit your researcher profile:

  1. Login to SOAR
  2. Click Edit Profile
  3. Choose the section and field you wish to edit

Note: Certain aspects of your researcher profile such as your name, title, affiliation, and contact information are automatically populated from the university directory.

Profile Elements

Name
Edit your display name or add name variants that appear across your body of work.
Global IDs
Add researcher IDs from systems such ORCID, Scopus, or PubMed. Global IDs are used to find and match research outputs with the correct researcher.
Profile Image
Add or update the image that displays on your profile.
Research Topics
Add subjects or keywords that describe your research interests.
Links
Add links to related web pages such as your personal website, CV, LinkedIn, or Google Scholar profile.
Expertise
Describe your research and professional interests.
Honors
Add honors or awards from recognized research institutions.
Education
Add your educational background, including earned degrees and certificates.
Organizational Affiliations
Add your current and past organizational affiliations.
Display title
Add a display title if different from the title that appears in the university directory. Note this will replace your currently displayed affiliation (both title and affiliation name) so include any Department or Organization name that you want to display as part of your title.
