SOAR User Manual

Your Research Output

Your Research Output is a list of works you have either deposited in SOAR or have been imported from external sources. In order to ensure your scholarship is accurately represented in SOAR:

  • Regularly review your research output to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date
  • Add any missing works or request to have your citations bulk loaded by staff
  • Upload files or add links to your outputs to make them accessible to researchers
  • Report errors to library staff using the messaging option next to an output

Add a Single Work

To add a single work:

  1. Login to SOAR
  2. Click Add Content > Output
  3. Select an asset type (article, conference paper, book chapter, etc.)
  4. Follow the prompts to submit your work

Add Works in Bulk

To add works in bulk:

  1. Export a list of your citations from another platform (ORCID, Scopus, Google Scholar, etc.)
  2. Save your citations in BibTex or RIS format
  3. Send the exported file to soar@rutgers.libanswers.com

Once your citations have been added to SOAR, you'll receive instructions on how to upload copies of your work to make them available to researchers. Uploading a copy of your work (typically your Accepted Manuscript) makes your scholarship more widely accessible and increases its visibility, use, and impact.
