This guide helps users to learn how to use the new and updated PubMed and show them what the new features are and where to find some of the old features.
How to Search by Author?
You may search for articles by an author in three ways:
- In the Basic Search box, just type the author's last name space initials (with no punctuation just a space in between). Then click Search. For example:
- To search using the Advanced Search mode in the Author Field:
- To click an author's name in a citation on Abstract display to see all the references by this author. This function is enabled by PubMed's Computed Author Sort Order feature. Note: Results by year timeline is unavailable when results are displayed in a computed author sort order.
