Industry Research: About this Guide

About this Guide

This guide will lead to many sources of industry data and reports from Rutgers-restricted library databases, the U.S. federal government as well as commercial firms, trade associations, and non-profit organizations.

Start with NAICS

Save time in government and other sources by finding your NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code number before you try any searching for industry info.

You can go to the government NAICS site and search by keyword.  Or, you can simply perform a Google search with your industry name as follows:

Commercial bakeries  NAICS

If your first search yields nothing, noodle around until you find out what official sources call your industry.

More under the Classification Schemes tab.
