Goals for a Literature Review

Understand the goals for a literature review.  These are adapted from University of Melbourne Library LibGuide.

In a literature review you will:

  • Investigate and evaluate the written scholarship on a specific topic.
  • Provide a framework for the research to be conducted.
  • Identify gaps in the literature and potentials for further study.
