Rutgers University Libraries' catalog and information system is part of QuickSearch, along with many periodical and newspaper indexes.  To limit your search to books use the "material type" filter in Advanced Search or post-search filter.

WorldCat (OCLC)

WorldCat offers hundreds of millions of bibliographic records representing holdings information from libraries in forty-five countries, including resources in 400 languages. Materials not owned by Rutgers may be requested through interlibrary loan.

Hathi Trust

Online full text of nearly 15 million items, mostly books, of which more than 5 million are freely available and may be downloaded, while the others have full text searching with limited viewing.  60% are in English, 11.2% in German, and 3.5% in Russian.

Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog (KVK)

The KVK allows you to search more than 50 library catalogs simultaneously including regional and union catalogs in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as most of the European national libraries and others around the world.  Often better than WorldCat for newer publications.
