Islam in the African-American Experience

seminar taught by Dr. Wendell Marsh, Fall 2024

Getting Started

This research guide is a tool to help you to discover sources of information that can support the research and creative projects you will complete in the course: Islam in the African-American Experience. Here you'll find print and electronic books, including  scholarly monographs, reference materials and encylopedias, as well as access to relevant journals and databases. These resources all contain various historical and cultural materials that you may find useful in your research on various course topics at the intersections of African American Studies, Religious Studies and Islamic Studies.

This guide is also meant to help you with curating  exhibit labels for your final project. As a result, you will find a sampling of current and past Black Islamic art exhibits, Black art exhibit catalogues, and along with tips on exhibit catalog and label writing.

Explore the guide by clicking the tabs and sub tabs in the menu on the left.
