Scientific Maps at the Library of Science & Medicine

Information on finding maps, with an emphasis on the Library of Science and Medicine and online collections.

Campus Maps

Maps of Rutgers University are available on the University Maps site. These maps are based on the Google Maps platform. Print copies of campus maps are in limited supply, but are sometimes available at campus student centers.

Large scale topographic maps and land use maps of Rutgers University campuses are housed at LSM in the map cases on the first floor of the library.

Departments at Rutgers

The Rutgers Cartography Lab designs and produces thematic maps, and maintains a webpage with examples of their projects. A most interesting project is the digital reproduction of historical maps of New Jersey. Print copies of many of these maps are available in the Special Collections and Archives collection in Alexander Library. This site also provides an extensive list of links to online sources for maps and map data.

Rutgers University is a member of the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science. Visit their webpage for links to Rutgers UCGIS participants, NJ GIS sites, and related information.
