The major providers of mass transit in the New Brunswick area are
- New Jersey Transit has buses and trains through New Jersey and into New York City and Philadelphia. It also provides rail service to the Newark Airport. Review transit schedules and buy tickets on their mobile app.

- Amtrak has a rail station at nearby MetroPark (Iselin, NJ) and provides rail transportation throughout the Northeast region across the country
- Suburban Transit provides bus service to the New Brunswick area and connect New Jersey to New York City. The bus stop is on the street, across from New Brunswick train station

Rutgers University Police Department also provides Public Safety Escorts to walk you to your vehicle, on-campus residence, or Rutgers transit.
Students can also request service from the Knight Mover, providing transportation across the New Brunswick/Piscataway campuses during select hours.
