Resources to help you get around campus, New Brunswick, and the greater metropolitan area

Commuter Links: Getting in and Out of New Brunswick

The major providers of mass transit in the New Brunswick area are 

- New Jersey Transit has buses and trains through New Jersey and into New York City and Philadelphia. It also provides rail service to the Newark Airport. Review transit schedules and buy tickets on their mobile app

Learn about the NJ Transit Student Discount. 

- Amtrak has a rail station at nearby MetroPark (Iselin, NJ) and provides rail transportation throughout the Northeast region across the country

- Suburban Transit provides bus service to the New Brunswick area and connect New Jersey to New York City. The bus stop is on the street, across from New Brunswick train station

Learn your way around campus

Carless? Get around on foot, bike, or bus. 

Parking on campus? Get your permit in order, and check which parking lots you are permitted to park in.

Feel safe on campus:

Rutgers University Police Department also provides Public Safety Escorts to walk you to your vehicle, on-campus residence, or Rutgers transit. 

Students can also request service from the Knight Mover, providing transportation across the New Brunswick/Piscataway campuses during select hours.

Rutgers has student centers and other spaces across the campuses for students to study and take advantage of time between classes. Amenities include lounges, game rooms, dining halls, computer labs and food courts. Here is a list of locations by campus:

Busch Campus
