A certification in nursing informatics can be obtained from an independent organization, such as the American Nursing Credentialing Center and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc.
Registered nurses can become certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), an affiliate of the American Nurses Association (ANA). ANCC offers the Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC) examination.
