Douglass College Student Life: Dance with Dads

This guide includes pamphlets and other resources from the "Dance with Dads" from 1950s to 1970s.

Date with Dad and the Future

Will the Parent’s Days return? This is uncertain. It is hard to revive events that have been gone for several years at a time. Additionally, it is extremely unlikely that a student organization could fund an all-day event such as this, and finding a department dedicated to doing so could prove difficult.

That said, another traditional event like this could be a fun way of creating yet another experience which unites us all as Douglass women. I feel as though, since the combining of colleges in 2007, there have been fewer ways for us all to feel connected. While I do think many opportunities unite us in our Douglasshood, such as Plenary, Knowledge & Power, the Global Village, programs provided by the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College, and any organization one becomes part of, I believe more programs like traditional events run by the college would give us all one more thing through which to feel truly connected.
