Originally, this event was called "Date with Dad." In the late 1970s, "Dad's Day" became the new title, and this one stuck.
Length of the Event
In the 1950s, the event ran from 9am to past midnight. However, by the 1980s, the event only ran from 11am-5pm. Then, in 2008, the event no longer existed.
Activities Included
Early on, activities included watching football games together and attending lectures. Later, the event included "getting to know you" games, in which fathers and daughters could get to know each other better.
