Tableau Software is an interactive data visualization tool that allows researchers, students, and data scientists to capture and analyze data through various methods. 

• Free Access: Tableau Public is free and can allow anyone to create interactive data visualizations online.
• Student Access: Tableau for Students offers free Tableau licenses for up to one year to students at accredited academic institutions through their Tableau for students program. Students can also receive  20% discount on the Tableau Desktop Specialist Exam.
• Instructor Access: Tableau for Teachings offers instructors at accredited academic institutions access to the software for free. Instructors must submit proof of the following: (faculty webpages, course syllabi, appointment letters, etc.) in order to show that you’re actively teaching to receive access.

MATLAB & Simulink is a programming and numeric platform used to analyze data, create algorithms and models. MATLAB functionalities have built-in plots to visualize data, gain insights, and identify patterns and trends.

Access for Rutgers University Instructors and Students: MATLAB ONLINE & Simulink allows you to download, install, and use Matlab on University/Personally owned equipment. Students can use Matlab on-campus in selected labs. Rutgers license may only be used for teaching and non-commercial academic research. Matlab Online is an online version accessed through the provided link through the Rutgers University software portal. Please log in using the Mathworks account you created when installing Matlab. (Note: New users must use your Rutgers University email address when creating an account.) 

Microsoft Power BI provides interactive visualizations capabilities with an interface for users to create reports, dashboards, as well as other functionalities.

• Free Access to Microsoft Power BI: Every 365 user can use the free version of PowerBI. However, the pro versions add more features that may be beneficial to power users.
• Instructor and Student Access to Microsoft Power BI pro versions: You must login to Rutgers University software portal with your netid and password. (Note: Microsoft Power BI Annual cost is $27 but is Pro-rated monthly).
