A guide to print and digital resources for research in English language literatures

Library Status

Borrow | Access | Request

The libraries offer a variety of options for obtaining books and other material.

  • Click and Collect - Circulating collections are now available via our low- or no-contact Click and Collect service. Request materials via QuickSearch by locating the item(s), signing in, and choosing Request Pickup. Turnaround time is usually 3-5 business days, but may be extended due to material quarantine. You'll receive an email when your materials are ready for pickup, with instructions for making an appointment.
  • E-ZBorrow and UBorrow - These services allow Rutgers faculty, staff, and students to request books from partner libraries in PALCI and the Big Ten and receive them normally within 5-7 days.
  • Article Delivery - Rutgers faculty, staff, and students can request electronic delivery of articles in journals not owned by Rutgers or available at Rutgers only in print. Use the Log in to ILLiad option on the Borrow, Access, Request site to place your request.
  • Interlibrary Loan - For books not owned by Rutgers (or missing or checked out) it is advisable to try E-ZBorrow or UBorrow first. But if a book is not available through either of those services, then try Interlibrary Loan. While E-ZBorrow draws on the holdings of nearby academic libraries, Interlibrary Loan draws on thousands of academic and public libraries around the country. Use the Log in to ILLiad option on the Borrow, Access, Request site to place your request.
