Try these tools where you can enter your bibliographic elements (information such as the author, title, publisher, publication date, etc.) to produce an APA compliant bibliography.
This is a quick guide (created by the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus) on how to make a "reference list" at the end of your paper and how to "cite in text" using the APA author-date system. Citing in text means citing the works of those individuals whose ideas, research findings and theories directly influenced your own writing. You must cite these sources in the text of your paper even if you are paraphrasing someone else's work.
For additional instructions and examples on "in-text citing" check slide numbers 13 through 16 in the Basics of APA Style Tutorial. Click here to see examples of different types of materials that you are citing such as books or journal articles with single or multiple authors.
Use this site (created by the University of Wisconsin, Madison) for a more comprehensive list of examples for creating APA parenthetical citations or an APA reference list.
This site is under construction. Until our own exmaples are completed use this site for examples of APA formatting.
A word of caution! It is very important that you understand how to format your references following the APA rules, or any other style manual, so that if the RefWorks program or any other citation maker makes mistakes, you are able to detect the errors and correct them before you turn in your final paper. You are responsbile for your own citations!
