- The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T)ASIS& is the preeminent professional association that bridges the gap between information science practice and research.
- Data Management Association (DAMA)DAMA International is a not-for-profit, vendor-independent, global association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices of information and data management. DAMA also oversees the CDMP, a data strategy certification.
- Digital Analytics Association (DAA)The DAA advances the use of data to understand and improve the digital world through professional development and community.
- Data Visualization Society (DVS)The Data Visualization Society fosters a community where every member benefits from resources that support growth, refinement, and expansion of data visualization knowledge regardless of expertise level.
- Institute for Certification of Computing ProfessionalsMany data and information positions require additional certifications beyond a Bachelor's degree. The ICCP administers 18 different certification programs, a number of which may be useful as you begin your career.
Student Organizations
- Information Technology & Informatics Council (ITIC)Affiliated with the undergraduate ITI program, but open to all students.
Among other activities, the ITIC works with and supports other technology and non-technology based organizations within Rutgers University; provides members with learning and work opportunities, and encourages social connections among those interested in technology. - Women in Information Technology & Informatics (WITI)Rutgers Women in ITI was founded in 2014 on the mission of empowering women in technology and granting them the connections, skills and mentorship they need to further their careers. Our members consist of ITI, BAIT, Computer Science, Statistics, HR, Entrepreneurship and various business and engineering majors and minors. We welcome students of all backgrounds regardless of major, gender, ethnicity, etc.!
- Rutgers Business Information Technology Society (BITS)Affiliated with the Business school, but open to all students.
The purpose of the organization is to provide a network for Rutgers students with an interest in the Business Analytics and Information Technology major to increase opportunities and experiences in the field.
