Working as a team

A few tips when working as a team:

1. Discuss your skill sets.  Don't sign up for creating graphics or speaking first if this is not your strong suit.

2. Make sure you are all on the same page.  Create a document which clarifies every ones commitment to the project. Find a digital space that works well for the team so you can collaborate.

3. Before your final presentation, get to know the software you will be using.  Run tests on what this looks like by practicing your presentation in the environment in which you will present.

Tips for engaging your audience in an online setting

  1. Most important in everything, who is your audience?  Likely there will be multiple audiences and many ways to engage.
  2. What do you want your audience(s) to learn?
  3. What are the tools you know how to use and have access to?

General Presentation TIPS

General Presentation Tips

  • Plan carefully.
  • Do your research.
  • Know your audience.
  • Time your presentation.
  • Speak comfortably and clearly.
  • Check the spelling and grammar.
  • Do not read the presentation. Practice the presentation so you can speak from bullet points. The text should be a cue for the presenter rather than a message for the viewer.
  • Give a brief overview at the start. Then present the information. Finally review important points.
