It is the researcher's responsibility to complete their own applications and agree to licensing terms for using restricted data, and identify a secure location for using the data. This will typically involve having an IRB-approved research project with a data management plan that addresses security and confidentiality issues. The Libraries' Secure Data Facility is closed, with the final projects ending in December 2022.

The Data Librarian, Ryan Womack, can assist researchers on the data security plan portion of applications for restricted-use data.

It is the researcher's responsibility to monitor the output from their research to ensure that no human subjects are identifiable and that all terms are complied with.
