Quicksearch is similar to other databases you may be familiar with, it has the ability to filter and sort items using limiters that you will see on the left, once you have results. Even though you are doing a search in a single box, it is not a Google search. Initial results will be broad; in order to get the exact item you want you will usually need to take advantage of the filters.
Please be sure to clear your filters before starting a new search! This will affect results for subsequent searches.
You may want to try the Advanced Search to get a specific article. Underneath the Quicksearch box on the right, click on the small text that says Advanced Search.
This will open up a search interface with multiple boxes. You can fill in the author and title. For the author, leave the setting to contains. For the title, you can change it to "is exact". You will need to change the resource type to Articles.
The circled text above shows what was searched.
