GenderWatch 

Academic Search Premier 

Business Source Premier  for articles on the intersection of health and poverty, pharmaceutical global trade, and inequality. 

Health and Welness Resource Center  facilitates access to a collection of general interest health and fitness magazines, medical and professional periodicals, reference books and pamphlets. Includes some full-text articles. 

CINAHL provides comprehensive coverage of the nursing and allied health journal literature. English language publications in nursing and allied health.

MEDLINE provides information from the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, as well as coverage in the areas of allied health, biological and physical sciences, humanities and information science as they relate to medicine and health care, communication disorders, population biology, and reproductive biology.

Truncation

Using truncation is a good way to broadening your search. The majority of databases the truncation symbol is asteric (*). The truncation symbol directs the database to search for all words that contain the root with variations of the ending.

Examples:

  • Mother -- Mothers -- Motherhood -- Mothering
  • Nurse -- Nurses -- Nursing
