Index to doctoral dissertations and master's theses. American doctoral dissertations indexed back to 1861. Most dissertations can be requested via Interlibrary Loan; Rutgers dissertations from 1997 on are available online to Rutgers users.

Center for Research Libraries
CRL holds an extensive collection of internationanl dissertations and will order titles not held if requested by Rutgers or any other member institution. The Dissertations subset of the catalog can be searched separately. Materials not owned by Rutgers may be requested through interlibrary loan.

Rutgers Dissertations & Theses

To find theses from a specific Rutgers program, in the Catalog enter "rutgers theses" followed by the program name and select "TITLE keyword" from the pull-down menu.  For example:  rutgers theses history


Beginning with October 2007 degree date submissions, dissertations and theses that represent a terminal degree from the Graduate School - New Brunswick are no longer sent to the libraries in paper format, but are instead added to RUcore as part of the Rutgers Electronic Theses and Dissertations (RUetd) project. Other graduate schools, including the Graduate School — Newark, are archiving their theses there as well.
