Locating your footage (downloadable)

Video Capture station

Video Capture Station (next to staff desk)


Use this workstation to capture your video from VHS or MiniDV.


This capture station does not have Adobe Suite or Final Cut Pro installed.  Please use iMovie for video capture, then you can edit your footage on another workstation.

How to locate your footage for back up:

Open the Finder.   In the “Go” menu Choose “Home”.

Double click the “Movies” folder.  Right click on the iMovie Library icon and choose “Show Package Contents”.


(If you cannot right click with the mouse, please check your system settings for the mouse.)


Choose your project by name or date.


Click “Original Media” and look for .mov files, then save these files to your drive or use another backup method.



Please be sure to back up your project and footage as all data will be erased when the computer is logged off.


(Alternate method- Before starting your capture, in iMovie choose File>Open Library>New and choose a location for your iMovie library.  Then follow steps above by right clicking on the iMovie library icon)
