The Rise and Fall of the Spanish Empire

The collection focuses on 16th through 21st century maps of North and and South America, as well as maps of the World, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania.

The collection includes cartographic representations in the collection of the John Carter Brown Library, both separately held maps, as well as maps in books.

This collection presents maps from different regions of the world and time periods in history.

The Mapas Project, from the Digital Humanities Center, University of Oregon, focuses on the digitization and study of colonial Mesoamerican pictorial manuscripts. It includes images that may or may not have had a cartographic dimension, but often showed the territories or landscapes of indigenous communities.

This Maps Section of the Newberry Library includes maps from British, French and Spanish empires in the Americas.

The collection includes maps from different parts of the world including Latin America.
