1. Discuss how this dystopian novel, written in the 1920's, was prescient, foreshadowing social, political, and/or philosophical problems we wrestle with today. 

2. Discuss the tension between rationality and emotionality Zamyatin explores in this novel. 


3. Discuss the imagery, symbols and metaphors present in this story: a civilization made of glass, numbers, eyes, mirrors, etc... You may focus on one theme or argue a thesis that connects several.
