Writing Prompt
You have two research essays to write, the first one based on two readings.
You will be exploring a variety of themes:
- Modern slavery
- Exploitation of women
- Oppression of immigrant labor
These are themes of the two main readings for the unit:
"The Semplica-Girl Diaries" by George Saunders
"A Series of Rooms Occupied by Ghislaine Maxwell" by Chris Dennis.
You will also be reading an article by Nicholas Kristof called "Slavery Isn't a Thing of the Past."
For this paper you can use the Kristof article, and you will also need to also find one other source on your own.
