Writing Prompt

Essay Five: (20%) In a 4 – 6-page essay that cites at least three sources in addition to “The  Case for a Tragic Optimism,” explore the importance of Frankl’s observations  This essay asks you to address the content of Frankl’s work rather than its stylistic prowess. Use the MLA citation format for your references.

This prompt invites you to write about what you think is important about tragic optimism and how it resonates in your lives. The secondary sources don't have to be any kind in particular. My goal is to have them know how much has been written about the idea, but they can also include personal interviews that they might do with someone who would find Frankl's suggestions important.
