The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global, annual campaign that connects the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th to National Human Rights Day on December 10th. This campaign originated with activists at the Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and is currently organized by the Center for Women's Global Leadership, based at Rutgers University. These 16 days are an opportunity to spread awareness and call for the elimination of gender-based violence.
