Introduction to Online Resources

To search for articles on your topic, start with one of the Rutgers University Libraries subscription databases. Depending on your topic, there may be a number of helpful online resources. This guide focuses on one (out of the hundreds of possible online resources available) from which you might be able to find relevant articles.  

1. Scopus

Scopus offers coverage in the physical sciences (7,200+ titles), health sciences (6,800+ titles), life sciences (4,300+ titles), plus social sciences and humanities (5,300+ titles). It is a citation and abstract database with over 50 million records. Patents from 5 offices are included. Can be used to demonstrate the impact of particular articles and authors.  Coverage dates: 1996-present

As a Rutgers student, you generally do not have to pay to get the full-text of an article. If Rutgers does not own or subscribe to it, request the article through interlibrary loan. Just be sure to try the following methods first...
