How to use Factiva

Explains the content available through Factiva and the various ways to search it.

Use Factiva's News Pages feature to find and read current headlines and full-text articles of several major newspapers and magazines, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

  • Connect to the Factiva database
  • From the Factiva landing page, scroll down to the heading that says Newsstand: US. Here you will see the most recent front page headlines for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Washington Post.

To look at more publications, select the radial button below the headlines.

Now you still see headlines from the current issue of USA Today, Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times. Further scrolling through the radial button provides daily headlines for publications such as the Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Tampa Bay Times, New York Post, Barron's Dow Jones Newswires, Forbes, The Miami Herald, The Mercury News and Star Tribune. Drop down menus to change the date (going back 2 weeks) and section (e.g. "Front Page" or "National Desk") allow for easy navigation.
