Research Guide for Exposition and Argument (01:355:103)

Welcome!

This guide will help you craft your research question, find and save sources, and format your references and bibliography. See the red tabs on the left or below to get started.

The tabs may make it seem as if researching and writing a college-level paper or an essay is a linear process: you start with a topic, ask a question, search for articles and other sources to support your argument, read the sources, write your essay. If you want to write a good research essay for this class and other classes, it's important to approach this is a creative, iterative process. As you find and read sources, your search strategies, your research question or questions, perhaps even the topic itself, will refine and evolve.

If you have any questions about library resources or services, see my contact information under the Citing your sources tab. I respond to email questions promptly. I'm happy to meet with you in person or online. But if you need immediate assistance, try AskUs, for 24/7 chat reference and other options.
