Literary Text Analysis

What is Literary Criticism?

It is the evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of literature. It involves reading a text closely to understand deeper meanings, the author's intent and cultural context.

What are some tips for conducting a literary analysis?

  • Investigate the historical and cultural background of the text, focusing on the time period in which it is written.
  • Pay attention to the details, such as word choice, imagery, and narrative techniques.
  • Compare the text with other works from the author.
  • Search for literary critiques that investigate the text and analyze it through different lenses.
