Students in Transition Seminar Introduction to the Rutgers University Libraries: Welcome

Library guide for students enrolled in the Students in Transition Seminars.

Welcome to Rutgers University Libraries!

Welcome to the Rutgers Libraries. We have many resources available to assist you with your research. This guide will help you navigate the libraries.

When you are off-campus, you will be prompted to login to the Libraries when you try to access Rutgers' restricted resources. Your login is your netID.

Set up your Interlibrary Loan and Article Delivery account

You may think you won't be using interlibrary loan and article delivery services, however, this service will take articles Rutgers Libraries owns in hard copy and create a PDF for you, so you don't have to track down the article yourself. In addition, if we don't own the article, we will arrange to get an electronic copy for you and it is often available in only 1-2 days.

Follow the link to set up your InterLibrary Loan account, so it will be available when you need it:

InterLibrary Loan Registration

If you have any problems setting up an account, please call 848-932-6000, and choose option 2.

Once you have set up your InterLibrary Loan account use the following link to request this article delivery service:

Class assigment

Transfer students have a class assignment based on the information provided during the library session. You will begin the assignment during the library session and complete it on your own. The completed assignment is due to your class instructor one week after the library session. You do not need to hand the assignment in to the librarian who taught your class. The assignment and additional direction can be found in the tab, "Finding scholarly articles by RU Professors."

Using the Libraries from a smartphone

To utilize the libraries resources and services on your mobile device download the "Rutgers University" app, available in both iOS and Android. Add the "libraries" icon through "more."
