Senior Exhibitions: Getting Started

This page contains information about the Senior Exhibitions on New Brunswick Campus in Spring 2020.

About Senior Exhibits

During these uncertain times, many in-person presentations or poster sessions at Rutgers have been cancelled or rescheduled.  The New Brunswick Provost's Office and New Brunswick Libraries are partnering with schools and programs to offer students the opportunity to showcase their work with an Online Senior Exhibition.

To facilitate this experience, we will be collecting digital materials such as posters, photos, abstracts, short videos, and other materials to create a customized online page for the students.  Students can also add the page's link to their e-portfolios or LinkedIn pages for future reference.

In addition, a synchronous event can be set up for the program directors and administrators to deliver their remarks.  The event will be attended virtually by the students, and their families and friends.

Plan

Components:

1. Asynchronous:

Students will be asked to submit their works via Canvas or the form that we have created. They will be asked to submit a poster, an audio or a video file that is no more than 3 minutes.

2. Synchronous:

a. A number of depts such as Aresty and Honors Capstone plan to have a synchronous event on April 24.  Administrators or deans will be asked to deliver remarks and highlight some of the students' accomplishments.

b. Honors Capstone also opts to have a 30-minute Webex personal room for each student to engage with the guests (faculty, industry partners, friends and families).

How can we help?

Mei Ling and Isaiah: build the site to display contents

Mei Ling, Meredith, and Michele: upload files including posters to sites.rutgers.edu

Megan and Lily: set up awards for students (including judging the posters, getting prizes...)

Mei Ling and Megan: prepare permission forms for students to sign electronically

Jill: provides Webex training for students who need to set up their virtual room, record the training and place it on Kaltura

Erika: explores the archival options for the posters

Subject liaisons: provide feedback about sites.rutgers.edu
