Searching for materials

Use the Rutgers Libraries' QuickSearch to find materials, including books, articles, audio and video recordings, government documents, course reserves, and much more.

Consult the QuickSearch help guide for information about searching, refining results, and viewing records.

Signing in to the Libraries

Sign in when searching the Libraries for full access to Rutgers-restricted resources. Signing in also also allows for creating and saving lists, requesting items, and managing your library account.

Limiting results to books

QuickSearch provides many filters you can use to refine your results. If you want to limit your results to just books, select books under "resource type" on the left:

Search Tips

Select Rutgers Libraries to find books, articles, media, and other resources available from the Rutgers Libraries. Use Advanced Search to limit your search by resource type, language, or date.

Select Course Reserves to search for course materials placed on reserve by your instructor. Use Advanced Search to search for reserves by instructor name, course name, or course number.

Expanding results

By default, QuickSearch only displays results that are available from the Rutgers Libraries. To search for materials beyond Rutgers, click Expand My Results. You may be able to request these materials through interlibary loan.
