Welcome to the Data Science Basics Workshop Series page for the Spring 2021 Semester!
This semester's instructor is Robert Young, a 5th year PhD Candidate in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
All Data Science Basics workshops are held on Mondays at 3:30pm-5:00pm on Zoom with a 5:00pm-6:00pm Office Hour session.
Robert Young is also available for one-on-one consulting time on Thursdays between 4:00pm-6:00pm and you can request a meeting by emailing at ryoung.2011@rutgers.edu
This semester's workshop series will focus on how to get started with Data Sciences. This will include the following topics:
- Basic Terminology
- Using spreadsheets with your data
- Using the Tableau Public data visualization program
- When to shift from point-and-click data analysis to computer programming language
- Python basics
- SQL basics
These workshops are not only livestreamed on Zoom (workshop slides at left navigation bar) but will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube (see right navigation bar for YouTube links).
