National Boards Dental Assisting Exam (New Jersey)   To perform expanded functions under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist in the state of New Jersey, dental assistants must be licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) was founded in 1948 and is the national certification board for dental assistants. More than 35,000 dental assistants are currently DANB certified nationwide. DANB, a nonprofit organization, is a member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. DANB's CDA and COA certification programs are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
New Jersey State Board of Dentistry  This board licenses and regulates dentistry and its related professions in New Jersey. The board licenses dentists, registered dental assistants, limited registered dental assistants, dental hygienists, teachers, interns, and residents studying dentistry.
