One of the major public libraries in New Jersey, the Newark Public Library boasts a regional federal documents depository, circulating collections in languages other than English, and significant holdings in the arts and humanities, including their own index to songs.
The New Jersey Information Center at NPL specializes in Newark and New Jersey items. There is an electronic Star Ledger index from 1989 to the present. The Newark News index (print) covers 1916-1970.
